Tactical
Exercise (Tacex). Tasked with the prime responsibility
of defending the national sovereignty over the sea areas
and protecting the maritime interests by ensuring
unhindered use of the Sea Lines of Communication (SLOC),
protecting exploring and exploiting the sea recourses,
Bangladesh Navy conduct annual sea exercise named TACEX
every year involving all the ships and
establishments/installations. This exercise was
initiated first in 1994 with the code name LOGEX
intending to examine the sustainability of BN ships at
sea. However, from 1999, this has turned as an annual
joint exercise involving more than 07 ministries and 19
organisations/agencies including the elements of
Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force. Military
observers for few friendly countries also participate in
TACEX. |
