Bangladesh
Navy has raced Monday to get aid to millions left
homeless by the cyclone in Bangladesh, where the
official death toll has topped 3,100 and is certain
to rise. Untold numbers of survivors were in urgent
need of food and water in the south, one of the
poorest areas of the world, which was battered by a
colossal storm Thursday night that swept entire
villages away. Bangladesh Navy survey ship BNS
AGRADOOT is already working to survey the clearance
of Mongla port Area. BNS TURAG and MADHUMATI is
deployed in post cyclone operation at HIron point,
Dublar Char, Alor Kool and Boar point area. At
Kalapara, Khepupara, Patharghata, Barguna and
adjacent area three of the BN landing crafts are
working for post cyclone search, rescue and
rehabilitation. BNS ABU BAKR, UMAR FAROOQ, KHALID
BIN WALID and GOMATI is deployed at St. Martins
Island and adjacent areas. |

Iajuddin Ahmed accompanied by Chief of the Naval
Staff Vice Admiral Sarwar Jahan Nizam, (C), ndu, psc
visited cyclone effected areas of Barishal and
Patuakhali. During there visit Honorable President
distributed relief materials towards the cyclone
effected people. He also expressed deep satisfaction
about the post cyclone activities of BN. |

Ahmed
accompanied by Chief
of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Sarwar Jahan Nizam,
(C), ndu, psc visited cyclone effected areas of
Barguna, Mirza Ganj, Dublarchar and Bagerhat. During
the visit Honorable Chief Advisor was briefed about
the Post cyclone activities of Bangladesh navy
around that area. Honorable Chief Advisor also
visited cyclone effected areas personally and
distributed relief goods towards the cyclone
effected people.
