1. "Nau Pariber Shishu
Niketon" Kindergarten School run by Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association was established in 1996 in Dhaka. The Kindergarten is located in BN Sailors colony at Lala
Sharai, Dhaka near Kachukhet. The Kindergarten is set up primarily to give childhood education to the children 0f officers and Sailors of Bangladesh Navy.
2. In the beginning the Kindergarten started running with play group, Nursery and KG class in one shift. Latter on due to increase number of students, the second shift of the kindergarten was opened in 1997. Afterwards class-I was stared in 2000 and Class- II and Class-III in 2001 and 2002. At present the kindergarten has about 350 students in six classes in two shifts.
3. In 1996, the year of establishment of the School, One Storied building with the foundation of four story was constructed. The building had the capacity of 07 class room, 01 principal’s room, 01 common room and 01 Office room. The building was extended in 2000 with the construction of second stored and additional class room was added. At present total number of classroom is 10 (Ten).
4. Extra Curricular activities. Every year the School arranges various curricular activities for physical and mental development of the students. Such as- annual sports competition, drawing competition, handwriting competition, essay completion and various visiting program. Students participate in this program with lot of joy and enthusiasm.
5. School Managing Committee. With the overall supervision and guidance of the chairman of
BNFWA. The School is governed by a Managing Committee, where the Chairman BNFWA Dhaka area is the ex-office. Chairman of the committee and two others BNFWA representative are the members of the committee. There are 18 teachers including the principal in the kindergarten. Most of the teachers are Masters on different subject.
6. At present there are six classes in sixteen sections in the kindergarten. The classes and the sections are as in the following :
a. Play group - 01 (One) section.
b. Nursery - 04 (Four) section.
c. K.G - 07 (Seven) section.
d. Class-I - 02 (Two) section.
e. Class - II and III - 01 (One) section each.
Generally there are 20/22 students in each section.
7. Admission procedure. Students are given admission from the beginning of the year on the basis of admission test. Admission test are taken both orally and in written. The admission test of Play group is taken only orally. The age group of Play group student is normally 3-31/2 years and that of Nursery and K.G is 04 (Four) to 05 (Five) years.
8. Tuition fee. Tuition fee for the children of Officers and Sailors serving in the Navy is Tk 175/00
(Taka One hundred Seventy Five only) each per month. Tuition fees for the children and Civilian employee serving in the Navy is Tk 225/00 (Two hundred Twenty Five only) each per month and for others it is Tk.300/00
(Taka Three hundred only) per month. During admission in each year, the students are to pay caution money, sports fee, Library charge, extra-curricular activities charge, Diary price etc. in addition to monthly tuition fee. The children of Officers and Sailors of the Navy are given preference in admission.
9. The KG school is playing significant role in the education of the children of the Naval families.
